Social Media Video Production with Zipinmedia

Video is one of the most effective forms of content today for sharing a message to a wide audience. In few places is this as apparent as it is on social media, where video thrives by improving engagements with your brand or company and providing an easy to process way to share a message.

But social media is already a content-rich place. Social Media Video Production Use Cases

About Social Media Video Production – What it is and Why it Matters

Social media, including Facebook, Instagram Twitter, LinkedIn, the many others, represents the easiest and most effective way to immediately get your business and brand in front of potentially millions of people. These websites give you complete control over a range of different features, and allow you to post anything you want to reach your audience.

There are many different types of posts you can make, and all of them do have value. But text and image alone is typically not enough to share a message – not on these content heavy platforms where potentially thousands of other brands and organizations are trying to also capture the attention of the viewer.

It’s important to find a way to stand out, and to develop a relationship with the viewer that can be used to strengthen brand loyalty, increase awareness, encourage a purchase, and more. One of the best ways to do that is by sharing video.

Video thrives on social media. Social media is a content heavy environment competing for attention. Those that browse social media give only seconds of thought before they decide if they want to give the content attention, or move on to the next piece.

Video captures that attention in ways that no other forms of media can:

  • It can share a message in seconds that help someone decide if they want to continue forward.
  • It can be instantly engaging, hinting at more to come in ways that static content cannot.
  • It brands fast, sharing information with minimal effort on the user.

Even if the person keeps scrolling, they’re exposed to you and your brand in seconds. And because video simplifies the content consumption process and reduces work on the viewer, more and more people are willing to stop and watch a video than they are willing to read a long piece of content – especially from a brand.

Studies into the viewing habits of social media users confirm that it is the most preferred form of media online. But, as video grows in popularity, it’s not enough to just share any video. It’s important to share one that is high quality, sends the right message, and has everything you need to create engagement and meet your goals.

It’s here where professional support can help, and why we at Zipinmedia offer experienced video production for social media and beyond.

Why Choose Zipinmedia for Social Media Video?

Video production is more than just “the creation of a video.” Anyone can make a video. Video production is the process of creating a full plan from beginning to end, using the best equipment, storyboard, and process to make sure that every second of the final cut helps you meet your organization’s goals.

Zipinmedia is a video production company that has produced well over 40,000 videos, worked with thousands of different organizations, and designs its entire videos from beginning to end based entirely on you. We have produced social media video since “before it was cool*” and continue to create quality, professional videos for organizations of all sizes.

*it was always cool. It just took businesses a long time to realize it.

We’re based in Miami, and well known in places like Fort Lauderdale, West Palm Beach, Boca Raton, and beyond for the design and consistency of each and every one of our videos. We’re also able to work nationally with businesses and organizations that are looking for an experienced partner to produce video on a one time or ongoing basis.

What makes is different isn’t just the quality of the videos that we create, or the fact that our pricing is very competitive in the social media video production space. The reason that so many organizations are partnering with us to create their videos is because we consider ourselves an extension of your team, and work as though we’re an arm of your business rather than an unrelated third party.

We do this for every one of our clients and every one of our videos, but it is especially important for our social media videos. That is because social media is expected to be an extension of your brand and feel some type of connection with you after viewing your content or following your page. Because we get to know you as a company, we are able to:

  • Create video that is directly in line with your goals.
  • Create video that showcases your company’s character or brand.
  • Create video that provides its knowledge of your product, service, or message.

As an extension of your team, you can view us not like a third party, but like your own video department, and like any video department, we engage with you as much or as little as you need us to in order to get the job done. You can come to us with an entire video already mapped out or, more commonly, you can come to us and let us know what your goals are with the video and we’ll do the rest.

It’s that personalized experience that makes both the process easier when you work with our video production and videography team, and makes for much better social media videos.

For over a decade, Zipinmedia has provided businesses both large and small with this type of personalized video production that can help your organization thrive, and we’re confident that you’re going to love the final works.

Social Media Video Production Videographers and Videography

Uses of Video on Social Media

There are now so many social media websites out there that even the term “social media” itself doesn’t do justice to the variety of different options that exist both online and on apps today. There was a time when the big names were Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and Instagram. In its early day, YouTube was considered a social media site as well, but today we tend to treat it more like its own video platform.

Now, however, those four are only scratching the surface. They’re still the biggest, and arguably most important, but now there’s:

  • TikTok
  • Snapchat
  • Pinterest
  • Reddit

Not all of these are necessary video sharing platforms, but they’re just some of the hundreds of examples of social networks that exist in the world today.

Because there are so many different examples of social networks, there are also plenty of different ways that social network video production can be used. The following are some of the most common examples of how businesses like yours use social network video.

Video Advertising on Social Media

The primary use of video is for advertising. Most social media is image heavy. That means that the more visual and more engaging the content is, the more likely the advertising will have the desired effect on the audience. That’s why many businesses invest in social media video production to help them with their social media marketing campaigns. Things like:

  • Boosted Posts (Facebook)
  • Instagram Ads (Stories AND Feeds)
  • Promoted LinkedIn Posts
  • Promoted TikTok Posts
  • Promoted Twitter Posts, and More

With all of these types of advertising, video has the potential to change the way you market. Social media video advertising is cheaper than buying commercial space on TV, more people watch it, and there are plenty of ways that someone can engage with the video that cannot be done with other forms of advertising.

Many, of not most, of our social media videos are used in some form of advertising because it is a great way to both get more from your videos and advertise more effectively.

Additional Uses for Social Media Video Production

Advertising, however, is not the only way that someone can use social media video. There are many other uses that are extremely common with social media, especially, as businesses look for creative ways to build their brand and take advantage of what social media offers. These include:

  • Personalizing Your Brand – As you build a following, video can help give those people that follow your page a chance to know you. Many people introduce the company, the people, or a new product or service through very personalized videos that take place in an office or with real people that work for you. It’s a great way to help these strangers feel like you’re more than just a company.
  • Sharing Information – Social media is also a great place to share information that may be relevant to your followers. For example, maybe you have a new feature and you want to introduce a how-to, or you have news about your company that you think would be relevant to those that follow your page. Whatever it may be, it’s a good way to help information get out there in a way that is easy to watch and digest.
  • Creating Engagements – Video has the potential to get people talking, and on social media, that talking has multiple benefits. When someone comments on a video, it may show up on the feeds of their friends and family. When someone likes a video, some social platforms, like Facebook, allow you to invite people to join the page. When people see a video, they may click on your name to learn more about you, or they may follow your page, or – and this can be immensely valuable – they may share the video to their own page, which may be shared again and again. These are all engagements that video can do that extend beyond the video itself, and many videos are designed specifically to increase the frequency of these engagements.
  • Making a Sale – The goal of any business is to make sales, and of course, you can make videos designed to create those sales. Maybe you have a new product launch, or you’d like to introduce a wide audience to a product or service you offer – no matter what the plan is, video is a great way to try to try to convert your audience into customers.
  • Generic Content – Video can also simply be used as high quality, generic content that you’re using to fill your page with something more than just a typical post. While video may be a bit of an investment, the occasional video on your page (especially one that may have other uses, which we’ll discuss below) is a smart way to make sure that your social media page is more interesting and more engaging than your competitors.

These only scratch the surface, as there are other social networks that offer additional ways that video can be used. Video is effective, it’s creative, and it’s one of the premiere forms of content for achieving your social media goals.

Social Media Video Production Ideas for Your Business

Types of Video for Social Media

We are more than happy to show examples of some of the many social media videos that we’ve produced over the years. You’ll see that they span a range of different styles and messages, each one carefully created based on the goals of the video.

One of the best parts about social media is that there are no rules here. Social media is meant to be, in many ways, a personified version of your company. Sure, most businesses maintain a professional image, but in theory you can create video on anything you want, in any style you want, at any length you want, and present yourself in almost any way imaginable provided it represents your brand.

Still, there are certainly some common types of social media video productions that are more common than others. These include, but are of course no way limited to:

  • Live Video – We have live streaming options available, and live video is growing increasingly popular on social media as a way to share an event as it is happening with footage that appeals to a broad, wide audience.
  • Product Videos – If you have products, presenting those products to your audience through video is a great way to make sure people get more and more interested in what you have to offer, and are able to learn more about what they receive by purchasing from your organization.
  • Event Recap Videos – We do a lot of event videos at Zipinmedia. Recaps perform especially well on social media platforms, because sometimes the people that attended the event and/or are in the video are willing and able to share it to their personal pages, and ultimately improve brand awareness.
  • Company Profile Videos – People do need to know you, and a company profile video is a great way to do that. We can help you create a profile of your company that is engaging, fun, or shares any message you’d like to it share, and then use that video to attract attention from current and future followers.
  • Traditional Video Advertisements – Advertising is advertising. We can help design for you commercials that you can use on your social media accounts, or advertising anywhere that video is accepted (including social media). Our advertisements can be fun, funny, cool – they can be however is best for your business, and used in any manner of advertising you plan to invest in.
  • Behind the Scenes Videos – Sometimes, in an effort to get to know you better, it helps to personalize your business by showing what goes on behind the scenes. It can be professional, candid, scripted, or something else, but getting people to see your business in ways that are non-traditional and perfect for social media.
  • Training Videos and Tutorial Videos – Though it’s primarily viewed as a place to maintain friendships and networks, social media is also a great place for learning. LinkedIn and Facebook, especially, benefit from videos that teach people things that may be of interest, helping to prove that you’re an expert to a wider audience.
  • “Viral” Videos – Videos that are truly unique can thrive on social media, as the more creative they are or funny, the more of an opportunity there is for viral success. This is especially true on Facebook, and on newer platforms like TikTok, where a great video can garner millions of views. Creating a viral video is hard, but when it works, it is one of the most successful ways to quickly spread your brand.

The other thing that makes video great is that it can be used across platforms. Not only social media networks – it can also be used on your website, on YouTube, on someone else’s press release, and so many other locations that many videos that are shared on social media were created for another purpose, and vice versa. That is what we mean when we say there are so few limits. Use your video anywhere you want, even off of social media, and get the best return on your time.

Industries that Benefit from Social Media Video

There is this belief that only some types of businesses benefit from using social media, but this is absolutely not true. Many different businesses across many different industries find that there are social media platforms where they can truly thrive. Even if the big 3 (Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter) are not relevant for your industry, typically others like LinkedIn will be, and using video the right way is a great way to get attention for you and your brand.

It is because there are so many social networks, and because there is so much potential in social media video production, that there is not really such thing as a “bad” industry when it comes to showcasing your brand. That means that we produce social media videos for:

  • Medical and Healthcare
  • Finance and Accounting
  • Home Services
  • Product Manufacturers and Resellers
  • Tech Companies and Startups
  • Event Planners and Event Organizers
  • Restaurants and Retail, and So Much More

We’ve worked with small businesses, and we’ve worked with Fortune 500 companies, and while the videos themselves may differ depending on where they are posted, there is little denying that social media has the potential to provide incredible benefits for those that are willing and able to invest in it.

What Makes a Good Social Media Video Production?

We said earlier that there are very few rules when it comes to what makes good social media video, and we meant it. You can post a feature length film and get great results. You can post jokes. You can post videos with no voices. You can post essentially anything you want. That’s what makes social networks such great mediums – it is okay to be creative.

We typically do not want to hamper your vision by putting limitations on the video. If there is something you believe will benefit you, we’d like to help you turn that into a reality. If you’re putting your trust in us and we think there is something you can benefit from, we’ll make sure that we do it, even if it is something non-traditional or something that has never been done before.

But with that in mind, there are commonalities among many social media videos that are effective for helping your video succeed. These include, but are not limited to:

  • Length – Typically, because so many people are fighting for the attention of the viewer, you’re going to want to create a video that isn’t *too* long, only because people have short attention spans. 2 minutes is a great sweet spot, but you can go as little as 30 seconds or closer to 2.5 minutes and still get great results. Keep in mind this varies depending on where the video is being used and how – some social media sites offer literal television spots that are 30+ minutes long. But for the average video, 2 minutes is a great length.
  • Fast Branding Info – Some people are going to scroll by your video. It’s natural, since you’re not going to attract every viewer. But most people will at least pause for a few seconds as they try to determine if it’s a video worth seeing. If you have some information, like a logo, in the first few seconds of the video, then at least your video has had an opportunity to brand almost every viewer.
  • Works Soundless – Audio and speech is important for every video, and should be included in every video. But most videos autoplay with the sound off. If you’re hoping to get someone to click on the video and listen to its message, it is often a good idea to make sure that at least the beginning of the video is engaging with the sound off so that people click to keep watching and let the sound turn on.
  • Character/Personality – Similarly, there are so many videos on the internet and on social networks, that it helps (though is not mandatory, depending on what it is for) that the video be interesting in some way. It can be visually interesting, creatively interesting, funny, unique – it’s not necessarily important how, since it is based on your brand, but some type of character or personality is useful for ensuring it gets the best possible results.
  • High Quality – Of course, any video that you choose to post on any social platform needs to be of the highest quality. You need to give people a reason to click on a video. Low quality productions are, in a world full of content, not typically something a person will go out of their way to view. That’s why a cell phone video or a hastily thrown together advertisement is not going to cut it. Quality is critical if you want the video to get views.

Usage is important. Because so many people use videos across all channels – for example, putting a video on their website and then sharing that same video to Facebook – your particular video doesn’t necessarily need to meet these requirements.

But if you’re looking for an idea of what a good social media video will look like, those are the factors that are most likely to get it the attention that it deserves.

Our Social Media Video Production Process

Over the years, Zipinmedia has continually refined our video production process to help us make sure that we’re always meeting your needs. Our process is transparent, and designed from beginning to end around everything we need to help you reach your goals. Our social media video production process includes:

  • Pre-Production – Long before there’s a final video, there’s a plan. To create that plan, we first get a better idea of your goals and determine the best way to reach them. We start storyboarding, scripting, coming up with interview questions, hiring actors, getting started with animations, and more, all based on what the video will be and how we can help you reach your goals.
  • Production – Production day our chance to take all of that planning and get the footage we need to move forward with the rest of the video. If you’re hosting an event, we’ll be there fully set up and ready. If we’re filming in your office, we’ll make everyone as comfortable as possible and be as unobtrusive as we can be to help get all the right shots. Production day is our chance to get everything we need to craft your final video, and our videographers will go out of their way to make sure we have as much as we need.
  • Post-Production – In order for that footage to become a video, we have to then go through the post-production phase. This is where we go through hours of footage to piece each part together in order to tell your story. During post-production, you’ll have your own project management portal that you can use to review each step and see where we are in the process. There will be a rough cut, a fine cut, and a final cut, and by the time the final cut is complete, we are confident that you’ll have a video in your hands that is ready to be shared.

We also know that your video needs to be seen. If you are new to the video production and marketing world, ask us about our “post-post-production” services, and find out more about what we can do to help you make sure that your video is viewed and that you’re getting the results you wanted.
