Mix the two components together quickly in a figure 8 motion until the compound turns to a slate gray, without any streaks.
Step 3: Mix the components
Step 1 - Prepare the Surface:
Clean the area to sheer away any rust or debris from the pipe and ensure it is prepped far out enough for the bypass plate to cover.
Spread it out over the board and make deep slashes through it to ensure it is mixed thoroughly.
Step 4: Check the Mixture
For mixing small quantities of Belzona® 1212, use: 1 part Base to 1 part Solidifier by volume
5 parts Base to 6 parts Solidifier by weight.
Open the containers and take a heaping spatula full of each compound and place it onto a Belzona® Working Surface or similar.
Step 2: Measure components
Once mixed, the working life is about 9 minutes. With a sturdy brush apply a copious amount of the mixture to the back of the bypass plate.
Apply mixture to bypass plate
Step 6: Apply mixture to pipe
Firmly apply a generous amount of product to the prepared surface of the pipe.
Position the bypass plate
Belzona® 1212 cures rapidly, in as little as
90 minutes at room temperature.
Consult the manufacturer’s instructions
for use for the recommended time
for your specific application.
Once cured, insert the plug and the leak
is now secured.
