The J’s Cultural Arts Theater or JCAT is the theatre educational arm of the Michael-Ann Russell Jewish Community Center’s Rabbi Norman Mussman Cultural Arts Department. It is a year-round theatre arts program for youth, teens, and adults.
J-CAT introduces students of all ages to the magical world of theatre through a full season of productions, Summer Stock Theatre Camp, and a whole range of classes in acting, technical theatre, and more.
J-CAT presents 6 productions during the theatre season with both adults and children. Drawing upon community theatre roots, their actors and techies make up a volunteer ensemble that showcases a love and passion of theatre. The shows are listed on the J-CAT website (www.jcctheatre.com) with a description and requirements of the characters. The Saveology Summit video was commissioned to open up a 3 day summit in Bal Harbour. The video was shot over a 4 day period. Some of the timelapse portions were shot over several hours.
This production was a lot of fun for us to do and we put a lot of effort into it. We really used all our skill sets to make this possible. This video included Timelapse, 2d animation, 3d animation, Motion Tracking, Green Screen Keying, Teleprompting, special effects, and dome major editing.
The Video for JPAY.com was a great production. This production took us across the country to a State Prison near Seattle. Although it wasn’t our first or furthest production trip it was the coldest. It happen to snow the night before the shoot at the prison which made the entire area pretty wet by the next day. All in all, the weather actually made the prison even grayer and gloomier which I think worked pretty well.
A funny story on the flight back… I sat next to a fine lady, and we struck up a conversation. we inevitably got to the point of the conversation in which we asked about where we were going and why we were there.
“So what did you do while you were in Washington”
I replied with a straight face,
“I had been in prison there”
At which point she turned red and seemed visibly uncomfortable sitting next to what she though a convicted criminal.
I turned to her with a half smile and said “I shot…” She gasped, and I continued
“A video production there for a company dealing with prisons. It was my first time in a Prison and I don’t plan on visiting again.”
We both laughed and had a great 6 hour flight back to Miami.
I won’t soon forget my foray in prison though, very eerie. I was even invited into a cell to get some shots. All in all though it actually seemed posh. Lets just say the old adage: It was a nice place to visit… but I wouldn’t want to live there.
We look forward to doing more with JPAY.com they are great, and have a fantastic product and service.
This Vicor Tech production was produced along side the American Film Team. This production was for Overseas use. It is an informational video highlighting the benefits and process of PD2i and the Vicor solution for immediate response to critical trauma situations. We shot produced and delivered this product within 2 weeks which made this a rush job for this level of work.
We also produced this on a laptop!!! Before we had our three workstations and our Mac Pro. The render for this literally took days.
Not much sleep but a nice project.
